Have you met Nala ?! This adorable feline is one of the most famous cats of the internet! She has over 20k followers on Twitter, 2.4 million followers on Facebook, over 3.3 million followers on Instagram! We love the fact that cats have taken over the internet!
Supporting animal shelters and raising awareness about the need for adopting unwanted pets is an issue very close to the Simon’s Cat Team’s heart. That’s why when we discovered the work that Nala does to spread the word of these important issues, we instantly became a fan!
We invited Nala to feature in our Simon’s Cat Asks… series. Here’s what she had to say.
SC: Hi Nala! So, how did you become popular on the internet?
Nala: I’d like to think the reason I’m famous is my story, its kind of and underdog story…. or in this case i guess its an undercat story. But I think the real reason is because my mom takes a lot of good pictures.
SC: She certainly does. But you should take some credit for looking so good in them! How did you meet Pookie?
Nala: The story about how I met my mother starts off when I was left in a shelter with my siblings. All my brothers and sisters were adopted and unfortunately we were all separated but I’m glad that we all would eventually find loving homes. One random day, when I was all alone in my cage my mother made a trip to my shelter just half an hour north of Los Angeles where she decided to take me home, and the rest is history.
SC: What’s your favourite sleeping place?
Nala: You didn’t hear it from me, but we felines only want our parents to think we have a favorite sleeping place so they will buy something that comes with a new box. However, if I really had to pick I believe that its more about what’s going on rather than the location, so I would have to say that its my mom’s laptop when she’s trying to work. It’s nice and warm and it always gets her attention. Love you mom!
SC: What about your favourite toy?
Nala: I have many new toys that my mom buys for me, but I think my favorite toy is the brown packing paper that my mom gets when she ships or receives things.
SC: That’s always the way! What would you say is your most annoying habit?
Nala: My most annoying habit is my uncontrollable urge to exercise at 3 am. On a good day, I usually do 10 to 15 laps around the apartment.
SC: And your most lovable trait?
Nala: My most lovable trait would have to be the fact that I am trying to help the other shelter cats who haven’t found homes. There are too many cats and dogs who are stuck in cages and they deserve a loving home and family. Other than that, I’ve been told that my best traits are my big blue eyes, and my short legs.
SC: What do you consider your most memorable moment?
Nala: My most memorable moment would have to be the day I was brought home. There were so many emotions, and I was only a little kitten back then. I was scared, excited, happy, and sad all at once! By the end of the night, it finally it me that my life was going to be a lot better now, and that it turned out to be the best day ever.
SC: The happiest moment is always finding a loving home! Thank you Nala and Pookie.
