Want to own ‘Doodles’?

Earlier this year, Simon was invited to decorate a giant statue of Aardman’s Gromit for ‘Gromit Unleashed’.

Simon was one of 80 prominent and international artists who took part including Sir Quentin Blake, David Inshaw, Sir Peter Blake, Disney Pixar, Cath Kidston MBE, Nick Park CBE, Peter Lord CBE, Joanna Lumley.

For the last 10 weeks the Gromit sculptures have adorned streets around the city of Bristol, UK, and now this Thursday, they will be auctioned for charity.

Bidders have the opportunity to bid on a truly one of a kind Gromit Sculpture designed by Simon Tofield as part of the Gromit Unleashed Auction. The Simon’s Cat sculpture, named ‘Doodles’, is adorned with hundreds of hand drawn cats, all getting into mischievous scrapes!

The Gromit Unleashed auction will be hosted by Sotheby’s auctioneer and TV antiques presenter Tim Wonnacott, who has described it as “the premier charity auction of the year”.

Bidding takes place on Thursday 3rd October 2013 at 7.30pm GMT and you can bid online at www.i-bidder.com/gromitunleashed.

All funds raised at the auction support Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity to help sick children and their families.

Here you can see Simon working on the sculpture.

Doodles has proved extremely popular with fans with many of you sending in photos of the sculpture on show in Bristol. Well, now you can own him! Although at human size you will need a large kennel to look after him.
